A Flower Is A Lovesome Thing is a gorgeous, simple song by Johnny Hodges at the top of his game. Para Knows is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Song 310 Blues is actually a funny song. The Jeep Is Jumpin’ the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Only one song from Everybody Knows Johnny Hodges named Main Stem really got me. This is one hell of a track. Open Mike is a strong cut, one of many. Stompy Jones is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Johnny Hodges ever produced. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Everybody Knows Johnny Hodges. Good Queen Bess is Johnny Hodges’s best work in years. I listened to the opening track Little Brother and liked it a lot. Such hits like Jeep’s Blues will leave you hooked. Do Nothin’ Till You Hear From Me as a highlight of Everybody Knows Johnny Hodges contains a ton of excellent melodies. Ruint is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Johnny Hodges sings Sassy Cue in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved.
