‘Shakuhachi - The Japanese F..’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Lead single “Honshirabe” and “Sanya” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. fourteen years ago, Kohachiro Miyata briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Sanya”. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Sanya
Sanya is the albums biggest surprise. Tsuru no Sugomori is astounding. Opening track Shika no Tone shows the best of Kohachiro Miyata. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Kohachiro Miyata.
