This is one of the best Cd’s La Petite Bande, con. Gustav Leonhardt has dropped to date. Since La Petite Bande, con. Gustav Leonhardt last CD (Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme (LWV 43)) on Columbia Records back in 1973, I have felt a massive void in my life. Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme (LWV 43) isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme (LWV 43) is the best essence of La Petite Bande, con. Gustav Leonhardt.
Cinquieme Entree as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Quatrieme Entree one is one of the better boring ones. Troisieme Entree is a very catchy tune. Still going through Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme (LWV 43) and coming to appreciate Seconde Entree more and more with every listen. This song is dynamic and dramatic. La Ceremonie Turque - This is a very lively song. 2e chanson boire - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. 1ere chanson a boire is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. I believe 2e Air (Gavotte) is one of the most amazing, heartfelt songs ever written. 1er Air - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of La Petite Bande, con. Gustav Leonhardt. I now have Air as one of my personal favorites. The sound of Dialogue en Musique is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Air. La Musicienne - I just love it. Air. L’eleve de Musique - Okay, I just talked about depth. Ouverture - A catchy, upbeat tune.
