Lee Hazlewood’s debut, ‘Trouble Is A Lonesome Town’, does not fit easily into one genre. Since Lee Hazlewood last CD (Trouble Is A Lonesome Town) on ForeFront Records back in 1962, I have felt a massive void in my life. Self-described as Avantgarde with lots of words, Lee Hazlewood comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Great Avantgarde right here!
Lee Hazlewood offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Son Of A Gun defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. It’s such an underrated song. Run Boy Run is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Six Feet Of Chain is a fine track on any terms. The Railroad is probably the highlight of the album. Look At That Woman is such a excellent and optimistic song that things can get just better. Peculiar Guy - A strong beat. Trouble Is A Lonesome Town is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about.
