This is the first studio album from Lee Scratch Perry since bad diagnosis in 1984. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Lee Scratch Perry on ‘Party Time - The Heptones’. I am not a real Reggae music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Reggae Greats’ really is amazing. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Lee Scratch Perry ever.
Lee Scratch Perry is hitting on all cylinders in Police & Thieves - Junior Murvin. Groovy Situation - Keith Rowe, Keith Rowe is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Soul Fire - Lee “Scratch” Perry is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. The song War Ina Babylon - Max Romeo ending is my favorite… so catchy! This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Musically To Be a Lover - George Faith is superior to other tracks in Reggae Greats. This track is a great song that still never gets old. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music.
