This disc has all of the essential Ligeti, Gyorgy classics. Ligeti, Gyorgy’s debut, ‘Works For Tape and Orchestra’, does not fit easily into one genre. Since Ligeti, Gyorgy last CD (Works For Tape and Orchestra) on Columbia Records back in 1961, I have felt a massive void in my life. Works For Tape and Orchestra constantly brilliant.
After about the third Artikulation listen through, I began to believe this song is Ligeti, Gyorgy’s essence. Atmospheres - I like this one. Requiem - To me, this is the best song on the Works For Tape and Orchestra. Lux Aeterna catches attention immediately,
