Now signed to Lightnin’ Hopkins’s Savoy Records, the title track from second album “Blues Train” leads Lightnin’ Hopkins’s back-to-school campaign. This is one of the best Cd’s Lightnin’ Hopkins has dropped to date. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Lightnin’ Hopkins on ‘Hello Central’. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Lightnin’ Hopkins breathes new life into the music in Coffee Blues. One listen to the sheer beauty of Long Way From Texas was all I needed. Opening track Mad As I Can Be shows the best of Lightnin’ Hopkins. Everybodys Down On Me gives good insight into the truths. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Dirty House Blues is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Nice and different song. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Blues Train. Buck Dance Boogie - To me, this is the best song on the Blues Train. Mad As I Can Be is pretty funky and mellow.
