Since Lucio Battisti last CD (Anima Latina) on SixSteps records back in 1974, I have felt a massive void in my life. Lucio Battisti was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Lucio Battisti and Anima Latina together. Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Lucio Battisti’s new album to that on ‘Anima Latina’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. If I may, I suggest “Abracciala Abbracciali Abbracciati”. That one song is amazing!
Due Mondi is astounding. Anonimo stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Gli Uomini Celetsi (5:05) a good melody. Gli Uomini Celesti (Ripresa) is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Due Mondi (Ripresa) - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Anima Latina is pretty funky and mellow. In Salame the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Nuova America is nothing but pure genius. Macchina del Tempo actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Lucio Battisti’s face. In Separazione Naturale it becomes nowhere more obvious that Lucio Battisti has yet to define own style.
