Self-described as Indie with lots of words, Merzbow comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Collection Era Vol.1 (Merzdisc 04) isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Lead single “Electric Environment” and “Untitled Material Action” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Overall, I would highly recommend Collection Era Vol.1 (Merzdisc 04) CD.
Untitled Material Action catches attention immediately, Within the first few notes of Telecom Manipulation it’s perfectly clear that Merzbow is living this song.
