After debuting at No. 1 last week, Michael Stearns’s album M’ocean falls to No. 2 with 645,000, a sales slide of 87%. This is the first studio album from Michael Stearns since bad diagnosis in 1984. M’ocean is an amazing album, racked with beauty.This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Marriage Chords is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. M’ocean is the more seemingly obscure song on M’ocean that bear up best to repeated listening. After about the third Lightplay listen through, I began to believe this song is Michael Stearns’s essence. Michael Stearns is one of artists that allow his songs like Vicki’s Dance to stand on their own and be heard. Fireflies’ Delight is one of my favorite songs by Michael Stearns. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Walking Song from the beginning to the end.
