For older fans Integrale (1973) will put a massive smile accross your face. three years ago, Michel Sardou briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Les vieux maries”. This disc has all of the essential Michel Sardou classics. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Les vieux maries - For me, this is the best of the album. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Les villes de solitude is a good listen every once in a while. Michel Sardou is one of artists that allow his songs like Interdit aux bebes to stand on their own and be heard. Once you hear Le cure, you will listen to it over and over. The sound of Je deviens fou is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Integrale (1973). In La maladie d’amour it becomes nowhere more obvious that Michel Sardou has yet to define own style. Tuez-moi is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Integrale (1973) have ended. La marche en avant defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone.
