On the Holland charts, superstar Michel Sardou’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. ‘Olympia 71′ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Michel Sardou had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This album is a scorcher!
One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Laisse-Moi Vivre because the melody in the chorus is so good. Best song on the album, love it. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Les Ricains is one of the best records ever. Je T’aime, Je T’aime - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Le Rire Du Sergent catches attention immediately, Vive La Mariee is really a nice song to relax and listen too. I came to like Aujourd’hui Peut-Etre. Et Mourir De Plaisir - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Michel Sardou. Les Bals Populaires is the excellent blend of moody yet optimistic tunes.
