This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Miles Davis. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Miles Davis energies, virtually a rebirth. On the China charts, superstar Miles Davis’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Ascenseur Pour l’Echafaud is the best essence of Miles Davis.
Bar du Petit Bac is one of the more up-tempo songs on Ascenseur Pour l’Echafaud. Miles Davis emotions are reflected through Visite du Vigile. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think asion de Julien is my favorite song on Ascenseur Pour l’Echafaud. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Florence Sur Les Champs-ys (2:50) a good melody. Julien Dans l’Ascenseur is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Sur l’Autoroute - arguably the best track on Ascenseur Pour l’Echafaud album. Miles Davis must have run out of lyrics on the next track Assassinat de Carala. Grique can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Miles Davis is all about. Although Sence Voiture [Take 2] is very melodic it is far from sad. Sence Voiture [Take 1][#] - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Petit Bal [Take 2] - A classic Miles Davis track. The sound in Petit Bal [Take 1][#] is really warm and Miles Davis’s signature voice is still very much present. I have all of Miles Davis’s tracks and Ascenseur is probably the most his introspective effort. Final [Take 2][#] hits the heart. Final [Take 3] is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. After you’ve listened to Final [Take 1][#], most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Nice and different song. The sound of Assassinat [Take 3] is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Assassinat [Take 2] is simply excellent. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. I was truly moved when I heard Nuit sur les Champs-ys [Take 4]. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. First time I heard Nuit sur les Champs-ys [Take 2][#] was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.The song Nuit sur les Champs-ys [Take 1][#] ending is my favorite… so catchy!
