It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Milt Jackson energies, virtually a rebirth. Stanley Donwood has compared writing for Milt Jackson’s new album to that on ‘Ray Brown-Milt Jackson - Much In Common (CD 2)’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This is one of the best Cd’s Milt Jackson has dropped to date. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Milt Jackson ever.
In A Crowd is the funkiest number on the album. Now Hear My Meahing is absolutely incredible. Mohterey Mist is a marvelous sing-along. Much On Common - This one is lively and fun. Wheh The Saints Go Marching In is the most memorable and marvelous. I’n Goitg To Live The Life I Sing About In My Song is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Gravy Blues is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Only one song from Ray Brown-Milt Jackson - Much In Common (CD 2) named Swing Low, Sweet Chariot really got me. What Kind Of Fool Am I is one of my favorite songs by Milt Jackson. Some of the arrangements found on Ray Brown-Milt Jackson - Much In Common (CD 2) are surprisingly edgy. Just For A Thrill marked the continuation of Milt Jackson in style evolution. Hancy is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Milt Jackson released so far. I find myself hearing bits of Give Me That Old Time Religion here and there throughout my waking hours. Just For A Thrill (alt) is a song to enjoy for years to come. Stalla By Starlight - For me, this is the best of the album. Stalla By Starlight is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Milt Jackson must have run out of lyrics on the next track Stalla By Starlight.
