I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘I Put A Spell On You’ really is amazing. When you buy a Nina Simone album, you know exactly what you’re getting! It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Nina Simone energies, virtually a rebirth. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Tomorrow Is My Turn
Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Ne Me Quitte Pas can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Nina Simone is all about. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on I Put A Spell On You is Marriage Is For Old Folks. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Album opener Gimme Some is a bright, upbeat ditty. Feeling Good is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. One September Day which is my favorite is a truly Nina Simone sounding song. Blues On Purpose is one of my favorite songs by Nina Simone. Beautiful Land gives good insight into the truths. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Song Take Care Of Business is actually a funny song.
