This is the first studio album from Ornette Coleman since bad diagnosis in 1960. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Ornette Coleman’s album Giants of Jazz 1960 falls to No. 2 with 569,000, a sales slide of 65%. This nine-song debut EP shows the promise that Ornette Coleman has. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Ornette Coleman ever.
It’s a great pleasure to listen to Rise and shine from the beginning to the end. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Revolving Doors - another great track from the Giants of Jazz 1960 album. The Legend of Bebop is a very catchy tune. When listening to Embraceable you, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Free Jazz is one of the best records ever.
