Ornette Coleman Something Else MP3

Ornette Coleman Something Else imageThis ten-song debut EP shows the promise that Ornette Coleman has. Since Ornette Coleman last CD (Something Else) on ForeFront Records back in 1958, I have felt a massive void in my life. Ivan Grach has compared writing for Ornette Coleman’s new album to that on ‘Something Else’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Such great and happy songs.

In Blessing it becomes nowhere more obvious that Ornette Coleman has yet to define own style. You have to get essence of the Jayne’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Chippie is possibly the best song Ornette Coleman has come up. Disguise - This one makes me want to not only sing along. The opening track Angel Voice is very much like you would expect from other albums. Alpha - a classic song. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is When Will the Blues Leave? because the melody in the chorus is so good. Sphinx is beautiful, yet underrated track.
