This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Ornette Coleman. Thom Yorke has compared writing for Ornette Coleman’s new album to that on ‘The Shape of Jazz to Come’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. The Shape of Jazz to Come isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Ornette Coleman ever.
I love the melodic melody of Eventually and to this day it makes me feel good. No Ornette Coleman song has come close to capturing my attention as Peace did. Focus On Sanity is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Congeniality is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. I’ve found myself listening to Chronology back to back and back many times.
