There is so much to love about Oscar Peterson, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Since Oscar Peterson last CD (Reunion Blues) on EMI Records back in 1971, I have felt a massive void in my life. While no new Oscar Peterson album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1971 tour in Australia. To me Oscar Peterson is the best band ever.
First time I heard Dream Of You was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Someday My is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. A Time For Love is the albums biggest surprise. The sound of Reunion Blues is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. When I Fall In Love is one of the more up-tempo songs on Reunion Blues. Red Top is a bit different from Oscar Peterson stereotypical stuff.
