I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Soft Sands’ really is amazing. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Oscar Peterson energies, virtually a rebirth. After seeing Dream On A Summer Night, I had to have a good Oscar Peterson cd. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Music of Echoes is gentle, never overbearing. Listening to I Can’t Get Started you can hear that Oscar Peterson has still amazing chemistry with band members. I’ve Never Left Your Arms - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Oscar Peterson. It Happens Every Spring is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. One listen to the sheer beauty of Of The Outside Looking In was all I needed. First time I heard Shanel was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.A fantastic track full of wonder. Song To The Stars is another strong production from Oscar Peterson. I love the melodic melody of Susquehanna and to this day it makes me feel good. Why, Oh Why is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. You Took Advantage Of Me is such a astounding and optimistic song that things can get just better.
