On Fuerte Y Caudal album, Paco De Lucia have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Since completing 1973’s ‘Entre Dos Aguas’, Paco De Lucia fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Paco De Lucia’s album Fuerte Y Caudal falls to No. 2 with 556,000, a sales slide of 61%. Paco De Lucia is one of my favourite bands of all time.
In Aires Choqueros it becomes nowhere more obvious that Paco De Lucia has yet to define own style. Charming song, great melody. I love the melodic melody of Solera and to this day it makes me feel good. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Cepa Andaluza is a striking and quite long song. Some of the arrangements found on Fuerte Y Caudal are surprisingly edgy. Plaza De San Juan is just simply stunning.
