Pat Metheny’s debut, ‘Travels (CD 1)’, does not fit easily into one genre. This album has some very good songs like Are You Going With Me and The Fields, The Sky. It has been nine years Pat Metheny’ last studio CD, “Travels (CD 1)” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. IT makes me wanna dance!
No Pat Metheny song has come close to capturing my attention as The Fields, The Sky did. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Phase Dance is simple, dignified and effective, Pat Metheny refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. I like the idea behind Straight On Red. Farmer’s Trust is the more seemingly obscure song on Travels (CD 1) that bear up best to repeated listening.
