Since Raul Seixas last CD (Mata Virgem) on Mute Records back in 1979, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s natural for Raul Seixas to take a stab at ‘Judas’ considering her long-professed love for Godsplague. Lead single “Judas” and “As Profecias” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This album is a scorcher!
As Profecias (3:55) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! I like to sing along with Ta Na Hora, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Planos De Papel is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Mata Virgem have ended. Conserve Seu Medo - Okay, I just talked about depth. Negocio E gets you up and jumping. In Mata Virgem it becomes nowhere more obvious that Raul Seixas has yet to define own style. Pagando Brabo is the albums biggest surprise. Magia De Amor to me is the best you can get from Raul Seixas. Todo Mundo Explica is pretty funky and mellow.
