It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Reinhard Mey energies, virtually a rebirth. Since Reinhard Mey last CD (Aus Meinem Tagebuch) on Columbia Records back in 1970, I have felt a massive void in my life. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Reinhard Mey on ‘Die Ballade vom Pfeifer’. This album is in perfect progression from Reinhard Mey!
In meinem Garten - arguably the best track on Aus Meinem Tagebuch album. Du meine Freundin is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. When I listen to Abgesang in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Aus Meinem Tagebuch. Trilogie auf Frau Pohl - This one is lively and fun. Aus meinem Tagebuch sets the tone for the entire album. I now have Das Lied von der Spieluhr as one of my personal favorites. Noch einmal hab ich gelernt is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. You can find feelings on this piece of art. In Komm gie?? mein Glas noch einm the music gets its power. Grh, gestern is marvelous song though, very addictive.
