Lead single “Ich wollte wie Orpheus singen” and “Ankomme, Freitag den 13.” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This album is in perfect progression from Reinhard Mey!
Ankomme, Freitag den 13. - Reinhard Mey first major hit. Diplomatenjagd stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Die Ballade vom Pfeifer is the most memorable and perfect. Der Mr ist immer der Gner is a good listen every once in a while. Die hei Schlacht am kalten Buffet gives taste of what makes Reinhard Mey special as a musician. This song may be the most meaningful. Music and lyrics of Ich bin Klemptner von Beruf creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Although er den Wolken is very melodic it is far from sad. Ein Antrag auf Erteilung eines Antragformulars is probably the most interesting track on Die gro?en Erfolge. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Keine ruhige Minute is one of my favorite songs by Reinhard Mey. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. In Das Leben ist full palet of sound is used by Reinhard Mey to accentuate the presentation. Was in der Zeitung steht is astounding. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song.
