For older fans Ikarus will put a massive smile accross your face. Reinhard Mey’s debut, ‘Ikarus’, does not fit easily into one genre. I am not a real Chanson music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Ikarus’ really is amazing. If you love Reinhard Mey as much as I do, then Reinhard Mey Ikarus is the CD for you!
This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Weil ich ein Meteorologe bin - This one is lively and fun. I have all of Reinhard Mey’s tracks and Die Homestory is probably the most his introspective effort. Reinhard Mey breathes new life into the music in Einen Koffer in jeder Hand. Es schneit in meinen Gedanken is the excellent blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Du bist die Stille is perfect. Atze Lehmann is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Es bleibt eine Narbe zur stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Within the first few notes of Mein guter alter Balthasar it’s perfectly clear that Reinhard Mey is living this song.
