Mein Achtel Lorbeerblatt couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Manchmal w ich. Annabelle, ach Annabelle is such a marvelous and optimistic song that things can get just better. I think Alles, was ich habe is the best song Reinhard Mey has ever done. Lyrics of Schade, dadu gehen mu are precise and evocative. Reinhard Mey allows each song to breathe and flourish. Reinhard Mey breathes new life into the music in Mein achtel Lorbeerblatt. After about the third Herbstgewitter ern listen through, I began to believe this song is Reinhard Mey’s essence. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Bevor ich mit den Wn heule one is one of the better boring ones. This song may be the most meaningful. This track is just fantastic from start to finish.
