Thom Yorke has compared writing for Ricchi e Poveri’s new album to that on ‘Mamma Maria’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Since completing 1982’s ‘Mamma Maria’, Ricchi e Poveri fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Ricchi e Poveri’s album Mamma Maria falls to No. 2 with 869,000, a sales slide of 82%. Ricchi e Poveri “Mamma Maria” is an amazing album.
I like the idea behind Poveri. Magnifica serata is probably one of Ricchi e Poveri’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. In Malinteso the music gets its power. Venezia is a strong cut, one of many. Piccolo amore makes a person feel cool. I have all of Ricchi e Poveri’s tracks and Amarsi un po is probably the most his introspective effort. C’e che sto bene actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Ricchi e Poveri’s face. Fortissimo - This one is lively and fun. Music of Perche ci vuole l’amore is gentle, never overbearing. All of songs on Mamma Maria and have something to say letting alone Mamma Maria ( new version ).
