Self-described as Blues with lots of words, Rick James and Stone City Band comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. While no new Rick James and Stone City Band album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1983 tour in Asia. Rick James and Stone City Band’s debut, ‘Out From The Shadow’, does not fit easily into one genre. Bad lady and Love hassles is really good.
Love hassles is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Spend the night - A strong beat. Telephone pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Ladies choice is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Once you hear Shake (make your body move), you will listen to it over and over. Dance is so fine is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy.
