It’s natural for Roberto Vecchioni to take a stab at ‘Aiace’ considering her long-professed love for Godsplague. Since Roberto Vecchioni last CD (Luci a San Siro: Best of Roberto Vecchioni) on Capitol Records back in 1980, I have felt a massive void in my life. Since completing 1980’s ‘Aiace’, Roberto Vecchioni fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Such hits like Archeologia will leave you hooked. Fratelli is worth the money. The sound of I Pazzi Sono Fuori is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Il Fiume E Il Salice is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Il Re Non Si Diverte (9:57) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Io Non Devo Andare In Via - For me, this is the best of the album. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Farfalla Giapponese had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Overall a nice softer song. Roberto Vecchioni is one of artists that allow his songs like Lui Sen N’e’ Andato to stand on their own and be heard. Ninna Nanna is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Parabola gets you up and jumping. Per Tirare Avanti is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Povero Ragazzo is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses.
