Self-described as Blues with lots of words, Roosevelt Sykes comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. There is no doubt that Roosevelt Sykes has talent. Roosevelt Sykes had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. I Love Dirty Mother For You from start to finish!
It Hurts So Good have really caught my ear and imagination. In Buggy Ride full palet of sound is used by Roosevelt Sykes to accentuate the presentation. I like the idea behind E.Z.Cherry. Dirty Mother For You is the most memorable and marvelous. Put Up Or Shut Up - A nice song. Peach In Egypt is the first taste of the new album. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Thanks, But No Thanks because the melody in the chorus is so good. Cootchy, Cootchy, Yes Ma’am make listening to Roosevelt Sykes like being in some sort of time warp. Dresser Drawers - This one makes me want to not only sing along. She’s Got It is astounding. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Dirty Mother For You. Poodle Dug is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Sugar Mill is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Dirty Mother For You. I came to like Music Is My Business. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Dirty Mother For You. Everlastin’ Love is astounding song though, very addictive. As always, Roosevelt Sykes’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again.
