This disc has all of the essential Rory Gallagher classics. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Rory Gallagher energies, virtually a rebirth. Irish Tour carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Irish Tour is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Wonder Who actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Rory Gallagher’s face. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Too Much Alcohol as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Rory Gallagher is one of artists that allow his songs like As The Crow Flies to stand on their own and be heard. A Million Miles Away is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. I can’t stop playing Walk On Hot Coals. Who’s That Coming is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. This track is clearly meant to showcase Rory Gallagher’s vocal abilities. Maritime is astounding.
