ten years ago, Savoy Brown briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “I’m Tired”. Self-described as Blues with lots of words, Savoy Brown comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Greatest Hits Live isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
I’m Tired is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. I believe Hellbound Train is one of the most excellent, heartfelt songs ever written. Excellent vocals and musical performances. I Can’t Get Next To You is beautiful, yet underrated track. All I Can Do Is Cry (7:52) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Needle and Spoon without a doubt is the standout song of Greatest Hits Live. Tell Mama very upbeat. Run To Me - A strong beat. Wang Dang Dooldle is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Louisiana Blues is one of these floating songs. Savoy Brown rocks harder than ever with The Boogie.
