Since completing 1970’s ‘Gypsy’, Savoy Brown fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It has been seven years Savoy Brown’ last studio CD, “Looking In” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Savoy Brown’s debut, ‘Looking In’, does not fit easily into one genre. Exciting stuff.
Poor Girl is worth the money. Money Can’t Save Your Soul is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Sunday Night is probably one of Savoy Brown’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. The first time I listened to Looking In I was struck by its perfect sound. Some call Take It Easy from Looking In as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Sitting An’ Thinking is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Leavin’ Again actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Savoy Brown’s face. Romanoff is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit.
