Since completing 1984’s ‘Songbird’, Sheila Chandra fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Lead single “Songbird” and “Fly To Me” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. There is so much to love about Sheila Chandra, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Another great offering from Sheila Chandra.
In Fly To Me Sheila Chandra spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Missing The Voice - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Unchanged Malady is a good listen every once in a while. Music and lyrics of Village Girl creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Prema, Shanti, Dharma, Satya is probably one of Sheila Chandra’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. All You Want Is More is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. From A Whisper … To A Scream as a highlight of Out On My Own contains a ton of astounding melodies. Storm Trance is the album’s biggest hit, I think.
