This disc has all of the essential Simple Minds classics. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Simple Minds. Lead single “Someone Somewhere In Summertime” and “Colours Fly and Catherine Wheel” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is what good Alternative should be.
This track is just fantastic from start to finish. This is one hell of a track. Big Sleep is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Somebody Up There Likes You, which shows, blatantly, how much Simple Minds has evolved as a singer. New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84) is almost impossible to review. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Glittering Prize. The sound in Hunter and The Hunted is really warm and Simple Minds’s signature voice is still very much present. King Is White and In The Crowd - A strong beat.
