This sixteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Skrewdriver has. Since completing 1979’s ‘Back With A Bang’, Skrewdriver fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This album has some very good songs like Back With A Bang and I Don’t Like You. Boots and Braces - Voice Of Britain is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Boots and Braces - Voice Of Britain. Built Up Knocked Down is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Once you hear A Case Of Pride, you will listen to it over and over. After you’ve listened to Breakout, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Musically Tearing Down The Wall is superior to other tracks in Boots and Braces - Voice Of Britain. Blew our minds when we first heard Boots and Braces. Antisocial actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Skrewdriver’s face. White Power is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Shove The Dove is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Sick Society hits the heart. Voice Of Britain very upbeat. On The Streets is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. I loved Invasion the first time I heard it.
