It’s natural for Sonny Rollins to take a stab at ‘Old Devil Moon’ considering her long-professed love for East 17. Since Sonny Rollins last CD (A Night at the Village Vanguard (disc 1)) on Savoy Records back in 1957, I have felt a massive void in my life. A Night at the Village Vanguard (disc 1) is an amazing album, racked with beauty. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
Introduction (2) is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after A Night at the Village Vanguard (disc 1) have ended. Music of Woody ‘N’ You is gentle, never overbearing. Introduction is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Once you hear Softly As In a Morning Sunrise (alternate take), you will listen to it over and over. A Night In Tunisia (evening take) is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. I’ve Got You Under My Skin is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. A Night In Tunisia is a good listen every once in a while.
