I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘A Night at the Village Vanguard (disc 2)’ really is amazing. There is no doubt that Sonny Rollins has talent. This is the first studio album from Sonny Rollins since bad diagnosis in 1957. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Sonny Rollins emotions are reflected through All The Things You Are. Striver’s Row (5:59) - awsome. Get Happy is another favourite of mine. A fantastic track full of wonder. Get A Night at the Village Vanguard (disc 2) and turn on I Can’t Get Started if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Sonnymoon For Two one is one of the better boring ones. Sonny Rollins has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Still going through A Night at the Village Vanguard (disc 2) and coming to appreciate What Is This Thing Called Love more and more with every listen.
