In Who Cares Sonny Rollins and the Big Brass spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Opening track Love Is a Simple thing shows the best of Sonny Rollins and the Big Brass. Nice and different song. The first time I listened to If You Where the Only Girl in the World I was struck by its astounding sound. This song stands out greatly from the others. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Doxy hits the heart. Some call Limehouse Blues from Sonny Rollins and the Big Brass (1958) as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. I’ll Follow My Secret Heart is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. You Are Too Beautiful is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Sonny Rollins and the Big Brass. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Sonny Rollins and the Big Brass (1958) is Grand Street (Verve LP ending).
