Pawn Shop rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. First time I heard You Don’t Know was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Betty and Dupree’s Blues is my favorite song on Back To New Orleans. Sonny Terry is one of artists that allow his songs like Back To New Orleans to stand on their own and be heard. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Sonny Terry. Fox Hunt is such a marvelous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Within the first few notes of I’m Prison Bound it’s perfectly clear that Sonny Terry is living this song. Louise, Louise is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Sonny Terry ever produced. Baby, How Long is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Listening to Freight Train you can hear that Sonny Terry has still amazing chemistry with band members. I Got A Woman is the album’s biggest hit, I think. I was truly moved when I heard Hold Me In Your Arms. This is probably my favorite song on the album. The Devil’s Gonna Get You - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. This song stands out greatly from the others. That’s Why I’m Walking is the albums biggest surprise. Wrong Track is beautiful, yet underrated track. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Blue Feeling. House Lady gives taste of what makes Sonny Terry special as a musician.
