When you buy a Spandau Ballet album, you know exactly what you’re getting! nine years ago, Spandau Ballet briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Pharaoh”. Stanley Donwood has compared writing for Spandau Ballet’s new album to that on ‘Diamond’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. I Love Diamond from start to finish!
Pharaoh - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Spandau Ballet. Paint Me Down still maintains something of a specific flourish. The sound of Missionary is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Instinction - This one is lively and fun. Innocence And Science is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. In Coffee Club it becomes nowhere more obvious that Spandau Ballet has yet to define own style. Chant No.1 is really the reason why I recommend buying Diamond.
