‘The Best of Two Worlds’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto and The Best of Two Worlds together. Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Aguas de Mar(Waters of March) is a great opener for The Best of Two Worlds. After about the third Ligia listen through, I began to believe this song is Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto’s essence. When listening to Falsa Bahiana, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Still going through The Best of Two Worlds and coming to appreciate Izaura (You Know I Just Shouldn’t Stay) more and more with every listen. Eu Vim da Bahia is a bit different from Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto stereotypical stuff. First time I heard Joao Marcello was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Preciso Perdoar - arguably the best track on The Best of Two Worlds album. In Just One of Those Things the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation.
