Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Stan Getz, Joao Gilberto Trio and Orchestra on ‘Samba De Uma Nota So’. This album has some very good songs like Samba De Uma Nota So and Desafinado. The Carnegie Hall Concert isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Unappreciated gift to Jazz
Desafinado is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Stan Getz, Joao Gilberto Trio and Orchestra ever produced. In Tonight I Shall Sleep With A Smile On My Face the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Grandfather’s Waltz is a bit of a show-tune. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. O Pato is the first taste of the new album. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on The Carnegie Hall Concert. Bim Bom is possibly the best song Stan Getz, Joao Gilberto Trio and Orchestra has come up. Don’t judge Meditation on the first listening. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Blew our minds when we first heard Meditacao. A Felicidade is a very catchy tune. As always, Stan Getz, Joao Gilberto Trio and Orchestra’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Listening to Here’s That Rainy Day you can hear that Stan Getz, Joao Gilberto Trio and Orchestra has still amazing chemistry with band members. Summertime is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Carnegie Hall Concert. Six-Nix-Quix-Flix makes a person feel amazing.
