Since Stanley Clarke last CD (Rock, Pebbles and Sand) on Savoy Records back in 1980, I have felt a massive void in my life. When you buy a Stanley Clarke album, you know exactly what you’re getting! This is one of the best Cd’s Stanley Clarke has dropped to date. Stanley Clarke is one of my favourite bands of all time.
ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE sets the tone for the entire album. ROCK, PEBBLES AND SAND is a song to enjoy for years to come. You can find feelings on this piece of art. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Rock, Pebbles and Sand. After you’ve listened to WE SUPPLY, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. What sets PART 2 - A FOOL AGAIN apart is Stanley Clarke’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Some of the arrangements found on Rock, Pebbles and Sand are surprisingly edgy.
