Since completing 1976’s ‘School Days’, Stanley Clarke fulfilled their contract with Virgin Records and where under no obligation to release another album. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Stanley Clarke’s album Shool Days falls to No. 2 with 157,000, a sales slide of 61%. Shool Days carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Some call Quiet Afternoon from Shool Days as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. This track is clearly meant to showcase Stanley Clarke’s vocal abilities. I love the melodic melody of Hot Fun and to this day it makes me feel good. Life Is Just A Game the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe.
