Lead single “Wild Dog” and “Louie Louie” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. ‘The Clarke and Duke Project’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is the first studio album from Stanley Clarke since bad diagnosis in 1981. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Louie Louie
If you are a Stanley Clarke fan, you will love Louie Louie. Opening track Sweet Baby shows the best of Stanley Clarke. I Just Want To Love You is the more seemingly obscure song on The Clarke and Duke Project that bear up best to repeated listening. Never Judge A Cover By Its Book - For me, this is the best of the album. Blew our minds when we first heard Let’s Get Started. Winners is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Touch and Go presents the gorgeous mix of instruments on The Clarke and Duke Project. Finding My Way stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty.
