There is so much to love about Stephane Grappelli and Jean-Luc Ponty, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Thom Yorke has compared writing for Stephane Grappelli and Jean-Luc Ponty’s new album to that on ‘Giants’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Stephane Grappelli and Jean-Luc Ponty on ‘Pentup House’. If I may, I suggest “Pentup House”. That one song is amazing!
It’s such an underrated song. Flipping is one of these floating songs. Minor Swing - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. I believe Carole’s Garden is one of the most excellent, heartfelt songs ever written. La Chanson de Rue the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Giants. As always, Stephane Grappelli and Jean-Luc Ponty’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again.
