The Rake’s Progress CD2 isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. John Digester has compared writing for Stravinsky, Igor’s new album to that on ‘The Rake’s Progress CD2′ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. It’s natural for Stravinsky, Igor to take a stab at ‘Act 2, Scene 3: As I was saying, both brothers wore moustaches’ considering her long-professed love for Godsplague. If I may, I suggest “Act 2, Scene 3: As I was saying, both brothers wore moustaches”. That one song is amazing!
Stravinsky, Igor must have run out of lyrics on the next track My heart is cold, I cannot weep. As always, Stravinsky, Igor’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Stravinsky, Igor rocks harder than ever with Aha! - He’s here! The auctioneer. In …ever - Sold! Annoyed! full palet of sound is used by Stravinsky, Igor to accentuate the presentation. Strong, powerful vocals of Stravinsky, Igor in Scene 2: Prelude are very impressive. In How dark and dreadful is this place the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Very well, then, my dear and good Tom hits the heart. I burn! I burn! I Freeze! is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Scene 3: Prepare yourselves, heroic shades is a strong cut, one of many. In There he is. Have no fear Stravinsky, Igor spins a tale you want to hear to the end. In Gently, little boat you won’t find any flashy solos. Where art thou Venus? is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. I love the melodic melody of Epilogue: Good people, just a moment and to this day it makes me feel good.
