The Animals was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from The Animals and Ark together. Ark carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. On Ark album, The Animals have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This album is a scorcher!
Love Is For All Time have really caught my ear and imagination. My Favorite Enemy is probably the highlight of the album. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Ark is Prisoner Of The Light. Being There rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Don’t judge Hard Times on the first listening. Voice and instruments in The Night complement each other. Trying To Get You is excellent song though, very addictive. Just Can T Enough is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. The Animals is one of artists that allow his songs like Melt Dow to stand on their own and be heard. Although Gotta Get Back To You is very melodic it is far from sad. Crystal Nights can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what The Animals is all about. No John No is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about.
